Valentin Jentsch Joins University of St.Gallen

Dr. Valentin Jentsch, LL.M. was appointed Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Corporate Law at the University of St.Gallen.

Valentin Jentsch’s academic career began at this very university 18 years ago. From 2004 to 2010, he studied law and economics in St.Gallen, interrupted by stays at the University of Southern California and the University of Haifa. After being admitted to the bar of the Canton of Zurich in 2012, Jentsch completed an LL.M. programme at Stanford Law School. His doctoral thesis at the University of Zurich (2015) was awarded the Issekutz Prize. Valentin Jentsch then took up post-doctoral studies at the University of Zurich.

From 2017 to 2018, a Max Weber Fellowship took the jurist to the European University Institute in Florence. Guest stays at the Humboldt University in Berlin and the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg followed. From September 2021 to April 2022, Valentin Jentsch worked as a senior research fellow (visiting fellow) at the Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance.

His research interests include corporate and capital markets law as well as fundamentals of the private law system.
