Caroline Heber Concludes Her Habilitation

PD Dr. Caroline Heber, senior research fellow at the Institute, has successfully completed her habilitation at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. She is now authorized to teach tax law, financial law and European Union law.

Her habilitation thesis ‘Enhanced Cooperation and European Tax Law’ deals with the possibilities and limits of differentiated integration in European tax law. The paper will be published by Oxford University Press in the series ‘Oxford Studies in European Law’.

Caroline Heber studied law at the University of Graz, where she also received her doctorate in 2012. Following this, Caroline Heber completed her Master of Taxation at the University of Sydney, while also working as a research associate at the Ross Parsons Centre of Sydney Law School. Since October 2013, she has been a research associate at the Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance and a lecturer at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich. In 2017, Caroline Heber received an Emile Noël Fellowship at the Jean Monnet Center for International and Regional Economic Law & Justice at the NYU School of Law.
