Kai Brückerhoff Selected as Top 40 Under 40

Kai Brückerhoff, a former research associate at the Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance, has been awarded the title of "Young Elite - Top 40 Under 40" of 2020 in the category "Politics and Government" by the business magazine "Capital".

He has been chosen as one of 40 important talents from the fields of economy, science, politics and society who "shine through their success and influence – and have the potential to achieve great things."

"The award winners' fields of activity are very diverse. This diversity provides access to an interesting network that will continue beyond the award," says Kai Brückerhoff.

After completing his International Baccalaureate, 34-year-old Kai Brückerhoff studied Economics & Management at the University of Oxford (Trinity College) from 2005 to 2008 and then worked for four years as an analyst/associate at Goldman Sachs in London. Between 2012 and 2014, Kai Brückerhoff completed a master's degree in public policy at Harvard University as a McCloy scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation. From 2014 to 2019, he wrote his doctoral thesis in economics at the Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance. He then worked from 2019 to 2020 as a staff economist of the German Council of Economic Experts. In 2020, he moved to the Advisory Board of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank.
